This newly fledged Peregrine falcon spent many days flying to telephone poles and perching, waiting for food to be delivered from the adults. This one day, it was being harassed by a Mockingbird. It would duck and dodge, but stayed on the pole, at one time, twisting its neck to look above and see if the pest would dive once more.

Watching the survival skills of these falcon chicks develop was an incredible experience. It all happens within a few weeks, so quickly, such steady progress. I wish them all the best as they go out on their own and learn to survive on their own.
